HELP NOW!

DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT (DEIS) ARE COMMENTS DUE BY AUGUST 26, 2024

THIS FIGHT IS FAR FROM OVER!

WE EXPECTED THIS EIS BUT NOT SO SOON.

THIS MEANS THEY DIDN'T TAKE OUR PREVIOUS COMMENTS SERIOUSLY AND WE NEED TO TELL THEM WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING THEIR WEAK PROPOSED MITIGATIONS.

THIS PROPOSED SITE IS WRONG AND COULD MEAN COMMUNITY LIVES LOST.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Speak Up in OPPOSITION!!!!

LET'S DO IT AGAIN BUT EVEN BETTER AND STRONGER!!!!!

Submit Comments to the BIA (again)

Once again we have an opportunity to tell the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) how detrimental the proposed casino resort would be environmentally to our community!!!

Fire is at the top of our environmental concerns. Do you want to evacuate along with 23,000 people exiting the casino and flooding into our streets and freeway? NO!

Please tell your friends, family, neighbors and everyone you know to please respond with a comment to the BIA.

The ONLY acceptable action is

(3) a no-action alternative is the ONLY appropriate action for the proposed site.

NEW! DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT RELEASED JULY 8, 2024

On Monday, July 8, 2024 the BIA and the Department of the Interior
Released the Draft  Environmental Impact Statement for the Koi Nation’s Proposed Shiloh Resort and Casino Project, Sonoma County, California

We Need Your Action Again!

In March of this year, the BIA and the Koi Tribe announced an intent to conduct an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), a more detailed and thorough report (than the previous EA) before they decide to approve either (1) a reduced-intensity casino alternative, (2) an alternate-use (nongaming) alternative, and (3) a no-action alternative. Many of you added comments during the comment period for this EIS from previous areas of concern in the Environmental Assessment (EA) or other environmental areas that may have come to your attention since the public hearing back in September of 2023. Thank you!  The Draft Environmental Impact Statement has now been released.

KOI SPREADING MISINFORMATION!!!!

In February, a list of Koi Supporters was published in a newspaper article. We were surprised to see the Sonoma County Fire District and a former SR City Council Member listed as supporters.  After reaching out to both the fire district and the former council member we were able to confirm neither had officially told the Koi Tribe they are supporters of their proposed casino resort project and they haven't taken a position of being a supporter.  We sent letters to the BIA making them aware of this FALSE INFORMATION being spread by the Koi Tribe.   Our community is being manipulated to think our community is in support of the project!!!!

ACORN CONFLICT OF INTEREST

Do you know that the organization who is preparing the Environmental Impact Documents for the Koi's fight for their casino are PAID for by the Koi?  An organization who specializes in working on these types of fights for tribes.  Acorn who is hired by the Koi is responsible for recommending to the BIA whether to approve or disapprove the Koi's application and they are NOT an unbiased third party!  Think about that!!!!

MAY CASINO NEWS!!!!!

Nor Cal Carpenter's Union Supports Casino Project

The Koi Tribe has consistently been consistently working behind the scenes trying to convince our community that the casino project is what is best for us.  First by reaching out to our local and state representatives, our rotary clubs and now by promising the Nor Cal Carpenter's Union an overwhelming amount of future work ($$$$$$$$).  They have convinced the Nor Cal Carpenter's Union to support the project and the Nor Cal Carpenter's Union has reached out to our representatives letting them know they support the project.

Fortunately, Congressman Huffman responded to them by saying, thank you, but he does not support the project  given our shared concerns.

You can help by reaching out to our representatives by letting them know our community continues to strongly oppose this project due to fire danger, water shortages, negative impacts to the environment, a casino doesn't belong in a residential neighborhood and the list goes on.
